Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) is an approach to treating mood problems with time limits and concentrated facts. The focus of DIT is on relationships and allows customers to understand the connection between their low moods and how they communicate. The theory is that, if a person can understand how habits formed as he or she grows up influence how they are interacting with others today, then he or she learns to deal with relations in more constructive and useful ways, reduces tension, and improves mental wellbeing.
- Metacognitive interpersonal therapy (MIT)
Metacognitive interpersonal therapy (MIT) is an integrative psychotherapy technique that focuses on inhibitory and avoidable personality disorders (PDs). A 12-month MIT treatment for individuals with emotional impediment PD was recorded in the current case sequence. Based on a standardised clinical examination, seven participants were identified with PD. The study followed a repeated measures design and took baseline measures 3 weeks before the procedure. Twelve months of weekly MIT sessions were performed, with results being taken every three months.
Diagnostic rehabilitation, symptom seriousness and alexithymia were the outcome variables. During the 12-month experiment, the majority of participants improved. The experiment was a potential catalyst of progress for six of the respondents. The present study adds to a growing proof of MIT’s efficacy in treating PDs.
